FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI

The new Powder Coated FlexPlate consists of three parts. The first is the magnetic surface that attaches to the printer's bed. The second and third are high-quality spring steel sheets covered with a PEI Ultem layer.

The FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI is the perfect surface to print on. It is durable, easy to manage, and thanks to its flexible design, prints are very easy to remove. Simply bend it slightly and the print will pop off.

This FlexPlate is based on a ferrite core, which is much more heat resistant than neodymium magnets. It can withstand temperatures up to 130°C, allowing you to print even with ABS.

PEI Ultem (Polyetherimide) is a reusable, low-maintenance build surface suitable for ABS (with a heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold). Other materials such as Metal, Wood, PETG, ABS+ and many more also work perfectly. No additional adhesives like glue or tape are required. PEI is appreciated for its "no-surface-prep" convenience, and printing on it requires no support rafts as parts adhere directly to the surface.

How to Use

Unpack your FlexPlate and attach the magnetic surface to your print bed. Then place the spring steel plate with the PEI layer onto the magnetic surface. Remove the protective film from the PEI and re-level the print bed. Parts should release easily. PLA does not require heating, but setting the bed to 45°C can help. No adhesives are necessary, though for large or long prints, using a compatible adhesive stick can improve adhesion and release. After printing, let the plate cool, remove it, and gently bend it to pop off the model. Before each print, clean the PEI surface with 70–91% isopropyl alcohol to remove grease or residue. You can also clean it with acetone, isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, or soap after use.
