Product Overview

The Ortur R1 is designed to make laser engraving technology accessible to everyone. Whether you are a hobbyist, a small business, or a creator of custom items, its intuitive functions and flexible options allow you to start engraving quickly and safely. The machine supports two laser modules: a 5W blue laser optimized for materials such as wood, acrylic, plastic, leather, paper, and more; and a 1.3W IR (infrared) laser capable of engraving various metals.

Design and Portability

One of its most distinctive features is the tool-free foldable design. Simply unfold the machine and start engraving, without the need for assembly or calibration. The device weighs only 2.4 kg and folds into a compact shape, making it easy to move, transport, or store.

Performance and Capabilities

Despite its compact size, the R1 is highly capable. It supports engraving speeds up to 5,000 mm/min and offers a laser spot size of 0.025 × 0.11 mm (5W) or 0.03 × 0.03 mm (1.3W). Depending on the material and required precision, it delivers clean and accurate results. The maximum working area is 100 × 100 mm for the 5W version (non-metal materials) and 100 × 80 mm for the 1.3W version (metals).

User Safety and Protection

User safety is a top priority. The R1 includes several protection systems, such as automatic shutdown when the lid opens, tilt detection, USB port lock, watchdog timer, and exposure limitations. The machine is rated Class 1 for safer operation, reducing the risk of accidental laser exposure.

Software and User Experience

The Ortur R1 comes with a complete mobile and desktop app featuring an integrated editor, design library, and multilingual support. You can insert text, upload images, or choose templates without additional software. The app supports both online and offline use and allows remote control and file transfer.

Build Quality and Sustainability

Ortur prioritized durability and sustainability. The R1 is made from 92% recycled aluminum and consumes only 0.1 W in standby, helping reduce energy waste. The product is CE and RoHS certified and meets the EPEAT Silver standard.
