xTool 3D Form Module - Bring 3D Sublimation and Vacuum Forming to WonderPress

The xTool 3D Form Module expands WonderPress beyond flat heat transfer with two different 3D workflows. It combines vacuum-assisted 3D sublimation with vacuum forming, allowing users to decorate curved objects with full-wrap transfers or shape compatible film around physical templates to create custom forms and molds.

Note: The 3D Form Module is an expansion module for xTool WonderPress and cannot operate independently. The xTool WonderPress main unit is required and sold separately.

Two 3D Workflows in One Module

The 3D Form Module supports both 3D sublimation and vacuum forming. Instead of limiting WonderPress to flat surfaces, the module uses heat together with vacuum pressure to shape compatible films around three-dimensional objects. This gives makers a single module for decorative full-wrap transfers as well as practical forming applications.

Sublimation Around Curves and Edges

During 3D sublimation, the module heats the sublimation film until it becomes flexible and then uses vacuum pressure to wrap it closely around the object. This enables the design to follow curves, edges and shaped surfaces that cannot be processed like a conventional flat transfer.

xTool specifies applications including phone cases, keycaps and button badges, making the module suitable for customized objects where coverage around the shape is an important part of the finished result.

Vacuum Forming from Physical Templates

Vacuum forming offers a different way to use the same module. A compatible sheet is heated until it becomes formable and then pulled tightly around a physical object using vacuum pressure. This makes it possible to reproduce shapes for applications such as custom molds, formed parts and packaging.

The vacuum forming mode supports objects up to approximately 258 × 203 × 90 mm. For easier demolding, xTool recommends objects that are narrower at the top and wider at the bottom and that do not have concave features on their vertical surfaces. Softer TPU vacuum-forming film can provide greater flexibility when working with more challenging shapes.

Integrated Vacuum System

The vacuum system is built directly into the module, eliminating the need for an external vacuum pump or separate hoses. Maximum vacuum pressure is below -90 kPa and can be adjusted for the application, keeping the forming system integrated with WonderPress.

Real-Time Film Temperature Monitoring

An infrared sensor monitors the temperature of the film in real time. This helps identify the appropriate point in the heating process for forming or pressing, reducing the need to judge film readiness manually and supporting more consistent processing.

Tool-Free Module Switching

The 3D Form Module is part of the interchangeable WonderPress platform and can be installed without tools. Once the module is attached, WonderPress recognizes it automatically and displays the corresponding operating mode, making it straightforward to switch between heat pressing and 3D forming workflows.
